225km 3500m Dong Van to Cao Bang
Was expecting a long day but not this long but nothing to complain about! Morning started off with tired legs from the day before but stunning views of the rocky landscape and pinnacle hills made me forget that. The highlight of the scenery of the trip!. A very squeaky front brake and no back brake made for a fun descents. Stopped for lunch Pho thinking most of the work for the day was over and I’d just be following a little river. Well, they built a road which goes up and down 50m a 1000 times following a river up a hill. Tiring stuff but rewarded by great views again at the top and a sunset decent with the bike lights off appreciating the moon, stars and outlines of the mountain tops. Then a hour or so dark riding into Cao Bang and a big dinner. Another long but great day.
