A big day…. Started a little late but nice cruise out of the town following the river until the first climb. Quiet roads until the 2nd climb and good roads all the way. Got to within 10km of the China border. Quite picturesque. 2nd climb out of Lau Chau (a mini VN Guilin town) and nice fast downhill then the main climb up into Sapa. Well Sapa gone a bit mad and lost a lot of its charm but guess that as inevitable and progress along with glass bridges, elevators and cable cars. No real loss for me as visited a few times years back and saw it when a little more authentic plus i get to see the real stuff every day cycling this route 🙂 Shattered on arrival! Nice to be having day off the bike tomorrow.
